A Study in Language, Meaning, and the Inescapability of the Best Word

I. The Defining Question

“What’s your favorite color?”

People ask this all the time. It’s a simple question of preference, of what appeals to you. Some say blue, some say red, some change their answer depending on their mood. The funniest thing? Colors exist mind dependently, but imagine a world where people taught others that “colors do not exist.”

“What’s your favorite animal?”

Again, it’s about preference. Lions, dogs, eagles, wolves—each choice tells a story, reveals a connection.

But here’s a better question:

“What’s your favorite word?”

Mine’s Good.

A favorite word isn’t just something you like—it’s what guides you. It reveals the principle by which you live, whether you realize it or not. Some choose freedom. Some choose love. Some choose justice.

Whatever word you choose, that is what you believe God is.
